WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump warned this week that if the Minnesota government is unable to get the riots under control, he will be forced to start posting online using all-caps.

With tensions and violent anti-ICE protests escalating in Minneapolis, Trump said he may have no other choice but to start posting sternly worded all-caps statements on social media.

"I don't want to do it, but I will," Trump told reporters at the White House. "Melania has said, ‘Don, you need to cut it out with the caps lock.' But I'm getting close. If these liberal nut jobs don't stop encouraging all the destruction there in Minnesota, I'm gonna do it."

Minnesota officials responded to the president's threat with defiance.

"You don't scare us, Mr Trump," Minneapolis Governor Jacob Frey said. "Your all-caps posts are no match for our unrelenting wave of social resistance. FIGHT THE POWER! See, I can do it too."

Minnesota has become a hotbed for political activism, fueled by encouragement from local and state government officials. Protestors and ICE agents clashed over the past week, with President Trump threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act and turn on the caps lock on his phone in an effort to quell violence.

"I'll do it. DON'T TEMPT ME." Trump posted to Truth Social.

At publishing time, Trump had also raised the stakes by threatening to have Republicans in Congress hold hearings and make strongly worded speeches to condemn the riots.
