U.S. — Fans are reportedly more excited than ever for the 2026 World Series, eager to sit down and watch a compelling matchup between Not the Dodgers and Not the Yankees.
The identities of the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays, two teams that have never before won the World Series, have reportedly been forgotten by baseball fans who spent the entire season more concerned about keeping the Dodgers and Yankees out of the championship.
Fans from all over voiced their excitement ahead of Game 1:
"I don't know who these teams are, and I don't care," said Oscar Martinez. "Go, Not the Dodgers! I'm counting on you!"
"I never thought I'd see a day when both the Dodgers and Yankees sat out the World Series," said Kin Telly. "I'm happier about this than the birth of my child."
"It doesn't matter who wins. They're both already winners to me," said Mike Tutoro, a longtime fan of Not the Yankees.
According to sources, more World Series watch parties are planned this October than in years past because of the electric excitement surrounding the historic matchup. Pizza Hut is said to be staffing up for the occasion in anticipation of record-breaking pizza orders as fans cheer on either Not the Dodgers or Not the Yankees.
Even sports reporters admit they are getting into the spirit of things. "Most World Series matchups involve Not the Dodgers or Not the Yankees, but almost never both," said longtime sports announcer Glam Russell. "It's finally time for Not the Yankees to make a difference."
At publishing time, MLB officials had yet to figure out which team was Not the Dodgers and which team was Not the Yankees.
