ATLANTA, GA — Local man Greg Spitzer found himself on the proverbial "cloud nine" following an encounter with a kindly old black woman who told him to have a blessed day.
The chance encounter occurred at the airport baggage carousel during what Spitzer later described as "a really stressful day." The gracious woman's powerful blessing reportedly had an immediate impact.
"Have a blessed day, honey," the woman, later identified as 74-year-old Gladis Mae Johnson, said.
Spitzer, who didn't realize he was looking for anything, felt his life completely change in that moment. "I was having the worst day, but after this kindly old black lady told me to have a blessed day, everything changed," he said. "I mean, I've had people say nice things like 'God bless you' and stuff before, but having a kinda old black lady tell me to 'have a blessed day' just hits different."
According to a recent study, having a kindly old black lady tell you to "have a blessed day" is the fastest and most effective way to have a blessed day, followed closely by watching your favorite baseball team win a game with a walk-off home run. "It's not the same coming from some random white dude," one respondent to the study said. "The magic is in the kindly black ladyness."
At publishing time, Spitzer was last seen frantically searching for Gladys Mae Johnson to have her tell him to "have a blessed day" again after watching his favorite baseball team get clobbered 10-3.
