WASHINGTON, D.C. — It was a difficult day for Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as he had been summoned to the White House for important talks on how to negotiate the end of the war that wrecked his country but was reportedly left kicking himself for not wearing his more formal olive green t-shirt for the meeting.
While talks between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine continued regarding territory holdings, security guarantees, and mineral deals, the Ukrainian president was forced to take criticism from President Donald Trump about his attire, leading him to regret not putting on his fancier dress t-shirt.
"I should have broken out my best t-shirt for this," Zelenskyy reportedly muttered to himself as he left the Oval Office. "I should have known this meeting with Trump was worthy of the t-shirt that best communicates that I am a macho leader who is in solidarity with my people and soldiers in their wartime hardships."
Trump was said to have been unimpressed with Zelenskyy's choice of attire, leaving him second-guessing his choice of a casual olive green t-shirt over a more formal olive green t-shirt.
"I packed several different options — classic olive green, light olive green, dark olive green, olive drab, khaki olive green, and mossy olive green," the Ukrainian leader was heard whispering to White House staff. "In hindsight, I should have jazzed things up a bit for the occasion."
At publishing time, Zelenskyy had reportedly made a mental note to wear his olive green t-shirt with a tuxedo shirt and bowtie printed on it for any future White House trips.
