Even though it reads like a headline from The Babylon Bee, it's unfortunately very real. Last week, big companies like Disney and Apple began pulling their advertisements from X (formerly Twitter) to distance themselves from Elon Musk, even though these same companies run ads on TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, and other platforms where anti-semitism and other forms of hate speech are allowed to thrive.
There's one reason for this: X is the one major social media platform not controlled by the Left.
At The Babylon Bee, we believe Elon Musk has done more to promote free speech than anyone else in recent history, and we want to stand with him and do whatever we can to fight back. With that in mind, our CEO, Seth Dillon, announced that The Babylon Bee is pledging $250,000 toward advertising on X.
The Bee was founded with the intent to make people laugh, and we never imagined that just a few years later we'd be at the center of the battle to protect free speech on the internet. But if this is where God has put us, we won't back down from this fight.
If you want to help support what we're doing, become a subscriber to the Bee. In addition to a bunch of cool benefits like free books, a discount on our merch, and ad-free browsing, you'll be helping us win this fight.
If you're already a paid subscriber, we are incredibly grateful for your support. But if you want to chip in a little more, you can make a one-time contribution today. This support will help us continue to take the fight to the people who hate you and want to shut down platforms where free speech can expose their bad ideas to the ridicule they deserve. You can empower us to take big, bold stands for free speech like this one.
We can't think of any more important stand to take than this one: free speech is worth protecting. If you agree, there's never been a better time to continue supporting our rapidly growing movement to stand up to those who want to silence you. And don't worry, we'll continue to tell both of our jokes in as many different ways as we can think of along the way.
