HOLLYWOOD, CA — Universal Studios has scored a major coup, announcing today that they have closed a deal for Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks to play the role of Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks in a biographical film about the life of Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks.

"This is a role he was born to play," said the film's director, Steven Spielberg. "I've worked with Tom many times over the years, and he's never been as in tune with a character as he is in this picture. As soon as Tom Hanks stepped on set, he really became Tom Hanks, almost as though he had been this person his entire life. It's spectacular."

Though regarded as one of the greatest screen actors of all time, with beloved roles in films like Forrest Gump, Cast Away, and Saving Private Ryan, the actor had been searching for a role he could really sink his teeth into. "I've played so many characters in my career," Hanks said in a statement through the studio. "It's time for me to really stretch myself with this one. This Hanks character is really out of my traditional wheelhouse. I'm really looking forward to audiences seeing it."

The film reportedly follows actor Tom Hanks (played by actor Tom Hanks) over the course of his life and career, from the television series Bosom Buddies to his later role as a guy some people believe is a part of the Illuminati.

At publishing time, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had preemptively declared Tom Hanks the recipient of next year's Best Actor award for his portrayal of actor Tom Hanks.
