LAKE FOREST, CA - Calling the project the "next big thing" for Saddleback Church, megachurch pastor Rick Warren announced Wednesday the much-anticipated completion of a $180 million theme park and resort adjacent to the sprawling church campus.
Containing six massive roller coasters for thrill-seekers, several themed park zones, hundreds of shops, and a "Kiddy Fun Land," Saddleback Theme Park & Resort is nestled in the hills of south Orange County, and is set to become one of the premier attractions in the region.
"Saddleback Church was already one of the most entertaining places to be on a Sunday morning in Orange County," Rick Warren said at an unveiling ceremony. "But we decided to up the ante. Now, we can finally compete with the big boys like Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm."
Saddleback Theme Park will also feature live shows seven days a week at its various theaters and amphitheaters.
"We've already got Carman, the Newsboys, and Audio Adrenaline on retainer, so we're sure to be one of the best acts in town for all your entertainment needs," Warren said proudly.
Churchgoers wishing to stay overnight will also be able to book a room at Saddleback Resort's Purpose Towers, a five-star hotel featuring seventeen world-class restaurants, nine pools, and its own water park.
While church members have first crack at annual passes as well as a lucrative discount offer, the general public can begin purchasing tickets to the park's grand opening extravaganza beginning this spring.
