WESTCHESTER, NY — Charles Xavier, the beloved headmaster of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, died this afternoon. He was 86 years old.

Known throughout the world as Professor X, Xavier was among the most powerful mutants of our time. At his family's estate in Westchester County, Xavier established a school where young mutants found an education, guidance in the use of their abilities and a place of refuge.

As headmaster of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, he welcomed students who had often experienced rejection. He sought to provide each with the knowledge and discipline necessary to navigate a world that frequently regarded their existence with suspicion. His teaching emphasized compassion, and he sought to instill in his pupils a desire to use special mutant abilities in service to others.

That philosophy formed the foundation of the X-Men, the team of mutants he assembled and mentored. Under his leadership, its members became defenders of humanity, repeatedly fighting to repel threats to the very communities that questioned the place of mutants in society.

A scholar of genetics and human evolution, Xavier brought scientific understanding to his advocacy for mutant rights. Though Xavier faced serious opposition, especially from longtime rival Magneto, he maintained that differences between humans and mutants could be reconciled through dialogue and mutual respect.

His influence will endure in the generations of students who found at his school an education, a purpose and a home.

Tucker Carlson is just asking questions about World War 2. Why was it even fought? Was Hitler really such a bad guy? And why did Churchill never denounce the trans agenda?
