FAYETTEVILLE, NC — In a move intended to give the historic military base a moniker more in line with its recent contributions to the country, the Pentagon announced today that it would be renaming the former Fort Bragg as Fort Death to America.

Originally named Fort Bragg before being renamed Fort Liberty in 2022, the army base has drawn negative attention in recent months for being the post where multiple domestic terrorists had previously been stationed. Pentagon officials believed a new name was in order to reflect the base's apparent goal.

"The new name is far more fitting," said one source within the Department of Defense. "While the name ‘Fort Bragg' is more traditional and the name ‘Fort Liberty' was intended to be an updated and inspirational change, ‘Fort Death to America' just embodies what the base represents today. Plus, it gives everyone a better idea of what to expect from the people stationed there."

Both New Orleans truck terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar and Las Vegas Cybertruck bomber Matthew Livelsberger had previously been stationed at the former Fort Bragg, while attempted Trump assassin Ryan Routh reportedly visited the base 147 times, making the base the obvious choice to be renamed as the hotbed for training and equipping domestic terrorists. "This new name can be a new era for the base," said another Pentagon source. "We want our domestic terrorists in training to know exactly what goal they're working toward."

At publishing time, officials were also said to be debating whether or not to move forward with plans to start handing out the "Muhammad Award" to the most promising terrorist stationed at the base.
