U.S. — Hasbro Gaming announced that it was expanding its board game library with a brand-new version of Clue, where you blame the murder weapon and never solve any crimes. Clue: Liberal Edition was being called the most interesting update in years for the popular game.
"I'm terrible at Clue. I always lose," noted board game enthusiast Justin Coats. "But in Clue: Liberal Edition, everyone loses. I am so there!"
In Clue: Liberal Edition, 3-6 players must solve the mysterious murder of Mr. Boddy, a cisgender white health insurance CEO, and compete to be the first one to blame the murder weapon. Where was Mr. Boddy murdered? With what weapon? Was it justified? These are the answers that must be answered before a liberal can safely close the case and save the world.
"Mr. Boddy was killed with a gun! We need common sense gun laws!" a happy-looking non-binary person said in an exciting new TV spot advertising the product. Other players disagreed, suggesting that banning lead pipes or candlesticks was the answer, illustrating the fun and exciting ways Clue: Liberal Edition can create new arguments to tear families apart.
When asked who the perpetrator of the murder was, Clue: Liberal Edition's designer Adrian Rance responded, "Perpetrator? Those don't exist. The weapons — and only the weapons — are to blame."
At publishing time, Hasbro revealed that Clue: Liberal Edition was set for release this fall and will retail for $29.99, plus a $19.99 tariff fee.
