LOS GATOS, CA — In an advancement sure to save countless movie nights — and marriages, Netflix has announced a new "Wife Mode" function that explains the entire movie before it starts.
Wives reported joy at finally understanding the plot of movies such as Lethal Weapon, The Shining, and Barbie: Dolphin Magic.
"I never knew watching a movie without stopping to ask my husband what's going on would be so much fun," said local wife, Sandra Mullens after watching the entirety of Avatar: The Way of Water without interruption. "I can't wait to rewatch The Lord of the Rings with "Wife Mode" so I can actually understand what's going on!"
Engineers admitted "Wife Mode" still contains a few hiccups. For example, it takes 197 minutes to explain all of the subplots and characters of the 182-minute Avengers: Endgame. "Wife Mode" also seems to refuse to explain Encino Man, other than stating, "Unable to explain absolute perfection."
Following the release of the popular "Wife Mode" feature, Netflix announced plans for "Husband Mode" to block men from repeatedly watching Gladiator so they would spend more time with their families.
