BENTONVILLE, AR — Taking inspiration from American Eagle's Sydney Sweeney ad, Walmart unveiled an exciting new television commercial featuring a sexy middle-aged dad in cargo shorts.
The commercial opens with a dad putting things into his pockets. Matches. Chapstick. Pocket knives. "These shorts can hold anything," he says. He then turns to accentuate his posterior while placing his hands on his hips. "Even my cargo," he adds with a wink. The words "Bill Has Great Cargo" then appears on screen.
The feisty ad has reportedly captured the attention of shoppers who are flocking to Walmart for all their cargo short needs. "I hope my husband can look like that," said one female shopper who bought ten pairs.
According to sources, the commercial marks a shift in the culture war away from hot women to average-looking men who look capable of taking care of their families. "The man in the commercial isn't sexy because he has a square jaw and chiseled abs; it's because he has a 401k and bought a pool for his family," said Walmart head of marketing Darren Mart.
In response to the ad's success, American Eagle has begun to reconsider its own branding and opted for a homely housewife for their next ad.
The Washington Commanders aren't the only sports team in Trump's crosshairs.
