STOCKTON, CA — According to sources, local wife Gillian Franks went to her husband to ask for his opinion on a minor decision so she would understand exactly how he felt and could then proceed to do the exact opposite of whatever he said.
"I wasn't sure if I should put the kids in soccer, but after my husband said I shouldn't, I knew it was the right thing to do," Franks said.
Following up on the decision to sign all three of their kids up for soccer, Franks also asked her husband if she should consider being their coach.
"They're on three different teams," her husband reportedly said at the time. "It's not practical."
Having received her husband's advice, Franks proceeded to do the opposite and volunteer as the coach for all three teams.
Franks's husband, Ryan, was reportedly familiar with his wife's habit of using him as a metric to form her own opinions. "I've made my peace with it," he said, appearing to have something stuck in his eye. "At least she thinks I'm good for something."
Ryan, who said he sees himself as the head of the household, had reportedly attempted to guide his wife wisely by giving her wrong opinions so she would do the opposite and make the wise choice, but whenever he attempted to do so, that was the time in which she actually appeared to heed his advice.
At publishing time, Gillian Franks blamed her husband for all the stress she was under after agreeing to become a soccer coach. "Why didn't you talk me out of it?" she was heard asking.
