FRISCO, TX - Chaos descended on Christ Methodist of Frisco as the all-white choir attempted to sing an African spiritual.
The choir tried to start clapping near the outset, but was immediately defeated by the syncopated rhythm and the scene quickly began to devolve.
"There were over a dozen injuries. We lost the entire baritone section. It was pure pandemonium," said pianist Marcus Devers. "It's going to take months for the choir to recover. In hindsight, we had no business attempting ‘Walk In Jerusalem'."
Sources in the congregation reported a sense of fear and panic that gripped the room as the choir director announced what was coming. "Oh no. Please, no. Don't do this," muttered parishioner Don Matsen. "What is he thinking? We're not built for this. Someone could die up there."
At publishing time, the church had adopted a new "Quarter notes only" policy for the choir.
