CINCINNATI, OH — A new study from the Center for Television Research shows humanity is deeply yearning for creators to produce more of the beloved '90s cartoon Animaniacs.

The longitudinal study, conducted over the course of five years and including respondents from all socioeconomic and racial backgrounds, showed that the vast majority of mankind was inwardly groaning with desire for more Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and their array of sidekicks and ensemble characters.

"After conducting a very thorough survey of over 50,000 individuals, we determined what humanity really desires, what they yearn for from the depths of their hearts, is more Goodfeathers, Aunt Slappy, Pinky and the Brain, Good Idea Bad Idea, and of course, the Warner siblings themselves."

Many of those surveyed expressed a deep yearning to return to a time when cartoons were just silly and fun, with a few neutral political and cultural references here and there to keep the adults watching, too.

"I grew up on that show," Animaniacs viewer Steve Williams said. "It's how I learned my countries, my states, the bulk of my scatological terms, most of my pop culture references, and how to take over the world."

The show's producers responded to the study, stating that many of them had since found other employment or died since the show's run and would be unable to produce any more episodes.

At publishing time, the study also found humanity was never the same after the discontinuation of Wrigley's Doublemint Gum commercials.
