Sound Guy Carefully Adjusts Bass Guitar Channel To Perfect Level: Zero

CARSONVILLE, AZ - Ahead of Sunday morning's church service at Victory Baptist Church, sound guy Ralph Anderson drew on his years of experience running sound for various services and events to carefully adjust the bass guitar channel to the perfect level: zero.

Anderson thought he had the mix perfect but suddenly realized there was "just a little bit too much bass" in the house, referring to the barely audible hint of bass guitar coming through the speakers. He studied his soundboard, furrowing his brow, as he tried to figure out what was wrong. Then he noticed the bass guitar had inadvertently been turned on.

"Ah! There's the problem right there. Let's see, we'll just turn that down a little and... there! Perfect!" he said as he moved the slider all the way down to nothing. "That sounds great."

He then gave bass guitarist Bruce "Flea" Thompson a "thumbs up" sign, indicating the level was "just right." "Soundin' good up there, bud!" he called out.

At publishing time, the church's drummer had been asked to play in an adjacent building to ensure the percussion section wasn't "overpowering."
