Everyone used to know about the treacherous pitfalls of listening to jazz music -- how it would lead to a life of sin and debauchery. Somehow, people stopped talking about the dangers of jazz, even though the music never changed.
Smooth jazz? How about a smooth road straight to Hell? Jazz may have tried to rebrand itself, tried to trick everyone into thinking it's some innocent little nobody. The devil's music has a way of fooling people like that. But nothing has changed! There are still no rules in jazz. You still got horn players doing whatever they want, and people stayin' up past midnight to listen to it. There are young folk using all sorts of dirty slang like "hip" and "cool cat".
Let me think: No rules, do whatever you want - shoot, that sounds like a lot of the liberal bull crap we hear nowadays. I wonder where it got its start. Oh wait, I know exactly where: Jazz!
When we were young, we all knew jazz was the gateway to drugs and damnation. There were all sorts of horror stories about kids who listened to jazz music, then started committing horrible sins, like shooting pool. My pappy told me that jazz was the devil's music, and that if I listened to it, a demon would come in through my earholes. Well, those ear demons didn't magically go away, but we sure as heck stopped warning the kids about them. Why did we stop giving kids fair warning about ear demons?
We've got to get our kids back on the narrow road, and that starts with talking about the dangers of jazz music. Tell a youngster today, and keep an ear out for those syncopated rhythms coming to ruin their souls.
These friendly Christian extremists have gotten out of hand.
