SCHENECTADY, NY — Members of the Pendleton family are reported to have been in a state of emergency since 8:37 this morning, the moment Grandma learned how to "like" text messages. Since then, every member of the entire extended family has been receiving notifications that Grandma "liked" their text message.
Reports confirmed that Grandma is still browsing her vast texting history and "liking" text messages from years past.
"I have a lot of catching up to do," Grandma was overheard telling Grandpa, who was either asleep or pretending to be asleep. "I won't stop until everyone knows how grateful I am for their kind messages."
"Oh no, she just liked an old text about my kidney stone," said one member of the family.
"What have I done?" asked the son responsible for teaching Grandma how to add a "like," "heart," or "haha" to any text message. "She's forgotten everything else I've ever taught her about her phone. Why, oh why did she remember this one?"
At publishing time, the Pendleton family had been swept up into another state of emergency after Grandpa learned to voice-dictate text messages.
