NEW YORK, NY — Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced this week that all women attending tomorrow's 9/11 memorial will be required to wear a hijab.
As the city marks the 25th anniversary of the Islamic terrorist attacks that murdered thousands of New Yorkers, Mamdani stated that the hijab rule was the least he could do to make Muslims feel comfortable at this delicate time.
"This should be a time of healing and unity. That is why all females in attendance, including family members of 9/11 victims, must wear a hijab," said Mamdani. "No Muslim man, on this day, should be forced to attack an American woman because she wore normal clothing. As we mark this grave moment, let us come together under the Sharia Law of Islamist dictatorships. Then, at last, we will have learned the true lessons of 9/11."
Several wives of 9/11 victims expressed outrage at the idea that women should have their freedoms selectively inhibited by the religious laws of the group that murdered their husbands. Mamdani responded by asking them to stop being so intolerant. "How about you stop thinking about yourselves and your dead husbands for once, you bigots," said Mamdani. "Cover up, or I'm not going to be responsible for what the Muslim men do to you."
At publishing time, event organizers had announced that Mamdani would briefly pause the memorial ceremony to lead attendees in a prayer to Mecca.
