Los Angeles, CA — Walt Disney Studios unveiled the teaser trailer this week for a much-anticipated live-action remake of a beloved animated movie that is only 98% animated.
With the upcoming release of Moana, rather than spending years developing and painstakingly computer-rendering an animated film, Disney opted to spend years developing and painstakingly computer-rendering a live-action film.
"This movie was almost entirely animated, but has a couple people in it, who we also touched up with CGI," boasted Disney CEO Bob Iger. "It's our most realistic simulation of what a live-action remake might look like, if it were actually made in real life."
Fans and critics alike were reportedly looking forward to seeing how uncanny the film looks and exactly what unnecessary changes to the original's beloved story Disney had made this time.
"I loved the 100% animated live-action Lion King remake," said respected movie critic Damien Crump, "but this one is only 98% animated. Really impressive remake. It's a total departure from the fully animated version."
The 2% live-action film being advertised as a fully live-action experience was expected to break box office records later this year as people rush to the theaters out of morbid curiosity.
At publishing time, Disney announced an AI-generated remake of the live-action remake of the beloved original animated feature.
