ETHIOPIA — The man who became a Christian through the miraculous witness of the Philip the Evangelist was disappointed to learn that he would henceforth be known to the world simply as the "Ethiopian Eunuch."
Though ecstatic to have been baptized into the faith, the man had hoped that some other characteristic of his would have made it into Holy Scripture.
"I would have settled for Ethiopian guy with the big chin," said the Ethiopian Eunuch. "Anything else. I do have a name, okay? Philip just got caught up by the Spirit of the Lord and disappeared before I could tell him what it was. It's Djimo, if you wanted to know. Bummer. I wonder how many people will end up reading about this."
At publishing time, the Ethiopian Eunuch and Simon the Leper had continued their long-running argument over who got the worst name in Scripture.
