RALEIGH, NC — Driver Ben Cunningham regretted stopping at a crosswalk this week for a homeschool family, sources report.
"I was in a hurry to get to work and I saw a family waiting at a crosswalk," Cunningham reported. "I thought I'd do a good deed but turns out this is one of those homeschool families, if you know what I mean. I was there for forty-five minutes. It was like the crosswalk equivalent of a clown car."
Eyewitnesses claim Cunningham seemed slightly agitated as the Miller family along with their children Rhyleigh, Mavryyk, Aiden, Paetyn, Hunter, Jaxxyn, Kaylee, Kylee, Braxylynn, Brystyn, Hadeigh, and Caylehb painstakingly crossed the road.
The Miller family told reporters they were grateful Cunningham stopped to let them cross but understand their family can present unique challenges for drivers.
"We only have ten kids," family patriarch Dale Miller commented. "Or is it twelve? I'll check with Rebecca, I think we had a set of twins last week but I could be wrong. Things happen fast around here!"
At publishing time, the Cunninghams backed up a Chick-fil-A drive-through for two miles while waiting for each of their kids to decide what to order.
