U.S. — Few things can perturb bicyclists, the carefree pedalers who move only slightly faster than a human can run, except for one thing: something getting in the way of their bicycling. That's why they've expressed shock and dismay to find something else using their roads: cars.

"When did this happen?" said bicyclist Arthur Rowland. "We keep seeing these awful things called cars on the roads, and they're constantly in the way and bothering us."

Much of the United States is paved with roads, which is perfect for bicyclists but can become dangerous when cars also try to use those roads.

"It just shouldn't be allowed," said bicyclist Kathryn Beasley. "I'm just swerving all over the road — as I usually do — and suddenly I have these cars coming at me and honking at me! It's scary and shouldn't be acceptable."

Bicyclists have been campaigning to have cars banned from roads — or at least force them to only drive on the sidewalks — but the legislation has yet to gain traction.

At publishing time, vehicle drivers were unavailable for comment due to the fact that they move much faster and more efficiently than bicycles.
