ATLANTA, GA — President Donald Trump's national address on election integrity may have fallen on deaf ears, according to a new CNN poll that shows 125% of Americans don't believe his claims of election fraud.
On Friday, CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins invited Chief Data Analyst Harry Enten on the air to explain the science behind a poll that suggested far more than every American was skeptical of Trump.
"According to a new CNN poll, more Americans than actually exist in the country do not believe Trump on election fraud," Collins said at the top of the program. "Wow, that's quite a number. Harry, why don't you walk us through the numbers on this?"
"The numbers don't lie," answered Enten. "Approximately 125% of Americans simply do not believe Trump on election integrity. That's an overwhelming number, Kaitlan. That's more people than there are actual Americans."
He continued, "As you can see, even red states are in on the action, given that this is 125% of all Americans. That's 425 million people. Over 85 million more Americans than are actually possible. Trump has clearly lost the Republican Party, and everyone, for that matter."
Fox News reacted to CNN's poll, implying that its inability to keep accurate polling data proved that election integrity was a serious problem. CNN officials hit back later in the day, however, claiming that 150% of people hate Fox News.
At publishing time, CNN had received widespread praise for its commitment to factual, hard-hitting journalism.
