RAYTOWN, MO — Following what management categorized as a flagrant disregard for the store's longstanding customer dress code policy, a local woman was kicked out of Walmart for not wearing pajama bottoms.
The woman's brazen refusal to comply with store rules left the staff with no choice but to have security personnel escort her out of the store and ban her from returning until she agreed to wear the standard customer uniform of pajama pants.
"Her attire was absolutely unacceptable," said store manager Dave Gamble. "While it is always our goal to accommodate our customers and make them feel welcome, her insistence on wearing tasteful jeans and a stylish shirt in our store was not something we were willing to allow. What you choose to wear on your own time is your choice, but keep your decent, presentable clothing out of Walmart, please."
Gamble said this was a serious miscalculation on the customer's part. "All you have to do is look around you," he said. "Do you see anyone else dressed like a civilized person? No. This is Walmart. Not only did she refuse to wear pajama pants, but she was fully clothed and wearing shoes. Who does she think she is?"
At publishing time, the store asked that all customers be made aware of its requirement that no one is allowed to enter the store unless they have gone at least three days without showering.
