ATLANTA, GA — Health officials issued an urgent public warning Thursday, revealing that over 450,000 people lose their lives annually due to becoming completely lost inside their own hoodies.
Officials said this phenomenon can affect anyone at any time and is not specific to any one group or ethnicity.
"It starts simple enough," explained CDC spokesperson Sarah Jenkins. "A person pulls a sweatshirt over their face, misses the head hole, and enters a terrifying prison of fabric and darkness. Within minutes, panic sets in, and they are completely unable to distinguish the left sleeve from the front pocket."
Experts warned that standard survival tactics, like feeling for a drawstring or screaming for your wife, rarely work once a victim is fully encased in the hoodie. "Any sound coming from inside the hoodie is severely muffled," Jenkins explained. "Despite the victim's desperate cries, no one hears their pleas for rescue.
Public health officials are now urging people to stay calm during a hoodie incident. "If you find yourself trapped in darkness, do not fight it," Jenkins warned. "Stop, drop, and roll toward a family member or trusted friend. Seek help immediately."
At press time, Congress was debating a bipartisan bill that would mandate all hoodies be sold with emergency exit lighting and an interior safety whistle.
Rumors swirl about the current condition of Senator Mitch McConnell, but his staff have come out to say that even if he were dead he will still be able to finish his term.
