ST. PAUL, MN — Tragically, a perfectly good meme was spoiled earlier today by an entirely avoidable typo.
According to local man Craig Richmond, a reasonably serviceable meme based on Boromir's famed speech in Fellowship of the Ring was totally ruined by a simple misspelling.
"What a waste," said Richmond. "You couldn't spend five seconds re-reading it to see this atrocious typo? You can actually hear the dumb-dumb thinking. He just thought the sound "e" and he wrote "e" instead of "y". Complete failure."
Alerted of his utter fiasco, the creator of the meme offered apologies. "I'm so sorry for what I've done," posted user @joshlovestennis. "I will do my best to do better in the future. I've already gotten a Grammarly subscription."
At publishing time, another person on the internet had ruined a potentially great meme by using an em dash instead of an en dash.
