U.S. - Some are accusing Kamala Harris of being a communist. There is scant evidence of that, though, just a recent tweet where she wrote, "Workers of the world, unite!" next to a hammer and sickle emoji.

Many on the right pounced on Kamala Harris's comment, exploiting the tweet and twisting her intent to accuse her of espousing communism.

"There's no evidence she's a communist," said a CNN commentator. "Just looks like your normal, everyday, run-of-the-mill call for workers to unify and seize the means of production. It's mostly not communism."

Harris has posted several times since then, including tweets such as "Seize the means of production!" "Kill the rich!" and "From each according to xer ability to each according to xer need!" Fact-checkers quickly pointed out that each of these are just intended to be interpreted metaphorically, and that Harris was in no way espousing communism through these comments.
