U.S. — In an attempt to give others a chance, the Scripps National Spelling Bee will heretofore offer a separate competition for non-Indian kids.

Competition officials admitted that the domination by Indian students had reached the point where white, black, and even Chinese kids were no longer able to participate in spelling bees beyond the local school level.

"Non-Indian kids deserve a chance too," said Scripps President Alice Mason. "Also, we're running out of words to give the Indian kids. We are therefore excited to announce that all future Scripps National Spelling Bees will include a non-Indian event with much, much easier words, words that even people from Iowa would have a chance at spelling."

According to sources, several past participants in the Scripps Bee came out against the change, arguing that it diminishes the winner's accomplishment. A letter condemning the new, non-Indian event has been signed by nine past winners of the Bee, including Deepak, Deepak, Deepak, Deepak, Deepak, Deepak, Deepak, Krishna, and Deepak. Though there have been talks of the past winners organizing a protest, thus far, the potential participants have been unable to find time due to all having internships at various nephrology institutes.

At publishing time, the winning word in the first non-Indian spelling bee had been announced as "cat."
