GOTHAM CITY — Justice faced a new obstacle in the wake of the Batman's latest daring feat, as Gotham's liberal women gathered outside Arkham Asylum to protest the vigilante's arrest of the Joker.
Sources close to the GCPD's investigation revealed that the Batman had apprehended the Joker over the weekend as the deranged madman attempted to once again poison the city's water supply with his patented Joker toxin. Shortly after news of his capture broke, liberal Gotham women began to protest his treatment.
"He has rights, you fascists!" one purple-haired person who was reportedly a female shouted. "Just because he doesn't conform to your rules, he has green hair, and was trying to commit mass murder doesn't make it OK for you to arrest him!"
Within hours, an angry mob of unattractive females had gathered outside Arkham Asylum, many of them with their faces painted white with grotesque red smiles, though that was later found to just be their normal makeup and not any sign of solidarity with the Joker. "Down with the GCPD and down with the Batman!" another vaguely female individual screamed. "Batman is the real problem. He rules this city like some kind of dictator. I didn't vote for him. He doesn't act on my behalf. He's the one who should be locked up!"
When reached for comment, Police Commissioner James Gordon denied the existence of the Batman and claimed that if he did exist, he would be deserving of the city's thanks for saving everyone from a homicidal maniac.
At publishing time, a group of angry, liberal women had reportedly blocked traffic and prevented the Batmobile from stopping a bank robbery perpetrated by Two-Face.
