HEAVEN — God confirmed this week that our heavenly bodies will look very similar to the aesthetic of animator Hayao Miyazaki, creator of Studio Ghibli.

"We are happy to confirm that the glorified bodies of the saints shall all be fashioned after the sublime Japanese animated style of Miyazaki," said a spokesangel to reporters. "Every man, woman, and child who arrives at the Pearly Gates will look like that. We hope you all like it."

After the rise in popularity of the viral trend of transforming photos into Ghibli-esque animated images, God reportedly decreed all celestial bodies would now look like whimsical highly colorized, expertly drawn cartoon characters.

"We're all just so inspired by all these memes," said the angel. "We've been needing a spruce-up around here for a while. Heavenly bodies currently look like those guys from the medieval battle paintings, which is cool but a little dated."

At publishing time, Hell announced it would also be updating the look of their residents, but that they'd be using the animated style of that HBO Velma show instead.
