HOLLYWOOD, CA — Disney's latest offering, Snow White, is already garnering Oscar buzz after performing terribly at the box office and bombing with critics, attributes the Academy looks for when choosing films to nominate.

"We're thrilled to see our movie get the recognition it needs," Snow White publicist Marcie Denison told members of the press. "With the reviews and revenue this film garnered, it's a natural fit to have it build traction with the Academy, it fits in so well with how they've been choosing movies to highlight in recent years."

Snow White was released to scathing reviews and fizzled at the box office, helping it pop up on the Academy's radar. The Academy has shied away from anything accessible, popular, well-reviewed, well-made, interesting, or generally well-liked films in recent years and has moved towards the obscure, unpopular, and poorly-received.

"Snow White's reception has really overwhelmed us because we knew it meant we'd most likely be nominated for a ton of Oscars," Denison said. "We worked hard to make this film as terrible as possible, and it's so satisfying to see our hard work pay off."

At publishing time, The Academy announced it was adding a new category for awards; "Best Picture That Normies Liked."
