Helpful hint!

Did you know it's completely possible to watch the extended editions of all three Lord of The Rings movies — and a good portion of the making-of videos — while you wait for your hands to dry under a bathroom hand air dryer? After surveying dozens of bathroom attendees, many expressed the ability to watch at least 14 hours of films while waiting for their hands to dry.

"I just put my phone on top of the dryer and stood there watching all three films," hand-dryer Dan McGillis said. "Occasionally, I would check my hands, and yep! Still wet."

McGillis then enjoyed a few of the behind-the-scenes featurettes.

"I was actually able to finish all the movies, so I watched three more hours of Peter Jackson explaining how they used scale and forced perspective, along with 'bigatures' and body doubles, to film the scenes with the hobbits. It was cool, but my hands were still wet."

Other respondents said they were able to watch the entire DVD box set of Friends (on a portable DVD/TV combo) while waiting for their hands to dry. Others said they read War and Peace or Crime and Punishment while standing in a public bathroom.

"I guess expending the electricity to power one of these air dryers for twenty hours is better for the environment than using a single paper towel — I'm not a scientist — but it does sort of seem like these things are a complete waste of time and all they do is warm up your hands a little and then you have to wipe them on your pants' leg while you walk out of the bathroom," bathroom-goer Glen Tyson said.

Experts recommend always having four or five movies cued up before you head into a public bathroom, as it makes standing there like a dope rubbing your hands together under the jet of lukewarm air for hours on end a little more enjoyable.
