BANGOR, ME — A local couple capped off a lovely evening together at an Italian restaurant by having their waitress provide them with a to-go box so they can make sure the inside of their car will smell like chicken parmesan for the next three weeks.
"We want to be reminded of this meal every time we get in the car," said Rachel Quezada. "Nothing is better than climbing into the car at 9 A.M. to head to Sunday morning church service and getting hit in the face with a wave of deep-fried chicken and aged parmesan cheese."
Rachel's husband, Brandon, concurred. "Yeah, after I go out to eat, I want to make sure the car smells like food," he said. "It works best after you've just had the car cleaned and it smells all nice and fresh inside. That's the perfect time to make it smell like old food. So good!"
To create the ideal situation, Rachel expertly left her chicken parmesan entree only half-eaten, opting instead to eat a fair portion of Brandon's fettucini alfredo while saying, "Everything you order always looks so much better! I should've gotten what you have!" The couple then asked the waitress to box up the rest to act as a potent car air freshener.
At publishing time, the Quezadas reportedly planned to keep their car smelling like the leftover chicken parmesan until they could make a trip to the local Thai restaurant and replace the scent with the overpowering aroma of spicy pad Thai.
