U.S. — CNN reported this morning that several Japanese teenagers traveled to Hawaii for what could have been a lovely day at the beach.

However, instead of enjoying the unseasonably warm weather, dozens of these men ended up hurt or killed after coming into contact with a group of anti-Imperial, xenophobic Americans.

"Thousands of heavily-armed, Japanophobic Americans had gathered in Hawaii," said CNN correspondent Brian Stelter. "A group of young Japanese men, many in the prime of their lives, came for what they believed would be a short visit to the island. In lieu of basking in the Hawaiian sun, these Japanese men had the misfortune of coming close to where the bigoted Americans were staying. For these young men, that mistake proved fatal."

CNN reported that the Americans fired hundreds of shots at the Japanese visitors, turning the peaceful day into chaos and bloodshed. "The lives of these poor Japanese men were suddenly and drastically changed by what happened," said CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins. "By merely coming too close to this gathering of armed, anti-Japanese nationalists, millions of Japanese would ultimately suffer."

At publishing time, CNN had reported that, sadly, Timothy McVeigh had wound up arrested after traveling to Oklahoma City for what could have been a lovely April morning.
