OTTAWA — In yet another stunning foreign policy win for President Donald Trump, news broke late last night that the Canadian government had caved to his demands and agreed to take Seth Rogan back.
Though many experts expected the deportation of Rogan to be a significant obstacle in relations between Canada and the U.S., Trump successfully pressured Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to take back the unwanted comedian.
"This is a tough pill to swallow, but we're willing to do whatever we need to do to make President Trump happy," Trudeau told reporters when the agreement was announced. "Canada has enjoyed many Seth Rogan-free years while he was in Hollywood making movies, but it's time for us to take responsibility for the harm he has caused and bring him back here to deal with him."
President Trump celebrated the deal in brief comments to the media. "This is a deal that corrects a great mistake that, quite frankly, never should have happened," he said. "The days of Seth Rogan roaming freely throughout the United States pretending to be a comedian and making awful movies are over. They're bad, folks. So very bad. Did you see The Green Hornet? It was a disgrace. Now, he can go be not funny in Canada, where he belongs. And if he ever tries to come back, I'll bring back the tariffs. We're going to make America funny again, folks."
At publishing time, negotiations for a long-term agreement between the nations hit a snag when Trump insisted on Canada also taking back Michael Cera.
Travis is back on his mission to interview everyone. Next on the list is celebrity chef and restaurateur Andrew Gruel.
