OXFORD — After much deliberation, an international team of Bible scholars has recently determined that an alleged third letter of Paul to the Corinthians was rejected for being obviously AI-generated.

According to Lee Stokes, the lead researcher and expert in Koine Greek, the style, composition, and syntax of pseudo-Third Corinthians were patently AI-generated.

"We first started to get a bit suspicious when we read the ending to the letter," Stokes told reporters. "The last words of the epistle are: 'Here's a draft for III Corinthians which reflects Paul's pastoral heart and his call for the Corinthians to endure in faith despite the challenges they face. Does that resonate with the kind of ending you had in mind?' That, and the numerous illustrations of an eight-fingered Titus started to raise a few eyebrows around the office."

Other scholars confirmed that the epistle was almost certainly an AI deepfake.

"As it turns out, Paul didn't usually include phrases like, 'Would you like me to find a more fitting quotation to prove your point?' in his other letters," said Simone Crimpe, a paleographer. "That sort of thing is a dead giveaway."

At publishing time, researchers had also determined that a series of letters purportedly by Peter claiming that he always outran John were also AI-generated.
