The holiday classic Home Alone featured some of the most iconic improvised booby traps in movie history, but did you know that the original script included many more of them?

The Babylon Bee spoke with film industry insiders and discovered the following list of booby traps that ended up on the cutting room floor:

  1. String-activated Gatling gun: This one was cut so the movie could avoid a hard R rating for blood and gore.

  2. Locking the burglars in the "Chimp Room" to have their faces eaten off: Macaulay Culkin reportedly refused to work with the chimps.

  3. The failsafe device the Predator used to blow himself up: From a much darker ending in which Kevin sees no other way out.

  4. Waterboarding: Left out at the CIA's request.

  5. Slowly Photoshopping the burglars into the family pictures on the wall so they begin to question what's real: This type of slow psychological torture was deemed not to be fast-paced enough.

  6. A recording of Kamala Harris laughing, which would play when Marv made it all the way up the stairs: The studio felt this one would be too scary for a younger audience.

  7. Sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads: This was saved for later use in the Austin Powers films.

  8. Releasing the feral inbred who lived under the McCallisters' stairs: Removing perhaps the film's most shocking twist.

  9. Something referred to in the script only as "The Soul Flayer": You don't want to know what this one did.

Needless to say, it could have been a very different movie. What other pranks would you have liked to see Kevin pull? Post them in the comments.
