MEMPHIS, TN — A local woman felt the overwhelming love and presence of God this morning, and sources confirmed she has yet to write a lengthy Instagram post about it.
"I saw the clouds come over the mountains and my heart was filled with the love of God," Karina Gardner told friends. "And the crazy thing was, I just sat there and let His love wash over me and didn't even open Instagram to write a long post about how I was feeling. Come to think of it, I don't even have an Instagram account."
Gardner reportedly sat on her front porch reading her Bible and enjoyed the splendor of God's creation for a full twenty minutes in complete silence and with no internet connection, an act previously thought to be impossible. With the ability to pick up a smartphone and fire off a paragraph or two on social media at any moment, most people tend to miss the quieter moments when the Spirit is speaking, theologians believe.
"Karina is somehow able to listen to the Holy Spirit without even making a post on Instagram with the photo of a close-up flower or a raindrop on a leaf or whatever," Gardner's friend Marie commented. "I usually at least post a quick 'God Is Good!' on my stories if I've felt His presence in my life that day…can you even feel the Spirit if you don't???"
At publishing time, Gardner had somehow managed to take an absolutely adorable photo of her two young kids playing in the yard without immediately sharing it on Instagram with some sort of #soblessed hashtag.
