SAN FRANCISCO, CA. — As a new feature to provide a greater level of optimization and representation, ridesharing giant Uber announced that it will begin offering riders a choice of having a woman driver or a good driver.
In a press release making the announcement, Uber stated that riders deserved the opportunity to select whether or not they wanted a really good driver they knew would be highly capable behind the wheel, or a woman.
"Every rider should be able to choose whether they want a driver who can actually drive," said Uber spokesperson Ryan Hobarth. "Giving our customers the ability to choose between good drivers and woman drivers is just a natural step in bringing a fully customizable experience with an increased risk of being in a traffic accident."
Riders were excited by the news. "It's about time we could choose how bad we want our driver to be," said one user. "Sometimes there are days when I just don't want to feel fully assured and comfortable that my Uber driver is capable of operating a vehicle. On those days, I want to roll the dice and put my life at risk. Being able to select a woman driver will be a game-changer. I know I'm not the only Uber user who just wants to feel the wheels scrape a few curbs every now and then."
At publishing time, Uber was reportedly working on introducing yet another level of optimization that would give riders the ability to choose the extra-terrifying experience of having an Asian woman driver.
Starbucks employees are fed up and taking matters into their own hands.
