Tinder Creators Developing Bible App To Enable Swiping Left On Undesirable Verses

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - Known for its flagship app Tinder, online dating powerhouse Match Group is now developing a new Bible app that allows readers to swipe left when they find an undesirable Bible verse. The app - called Bible Tinder -  will also allow people to swipe right on Scriptures they like, but would prefer out of context. Liked verses are added to a folder where they can be made into coffee mugs, t-shirts, necklaces, and tattoos.

Among its many features, Bible Tinder users can sync up their Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media profiles with their account to receive customized suggestions based on their online behavior. For instance, users who publicly profess to be pro-choice will receive an automated prompt that reads, "It looks like you are in favor of abortion. Would you like to delete the sixth commandment?" Other users who prefer cohabitation can easily delete any references to preserving the marriage bed. The app will even detect pervasive disbelief and ask the user, "it appears you don't actually believe anything the Bible teaches. Would you like to delete the whole Bible?"

The app will also offer a gold subscription so that students of the Scriptures can see what verses have been disliked by their favorite celebrities and online influencers. "Finally, people will be able to alter the Scriptures and match their Bible up with relevant thought leaders and celebrities for a more culturally relevant Bible experience," explained Tanisha Sparrow, VP of Match Groups' new Bible Tinder division. Gold subscribers will also be able to edit the Bible to fit their diverse lifestyle preferences.

Bible Tinder is set to launch in late April for a release in time for Easter.
