TALLAHASSEE, FL — Termites in a home on 54th street were excited this morning as a shiny yellow and red tent was placed over the house they've been living in.
The tent appeared to be a sort of circus-style apparatus, leading to significant buzz in the termite community of what cool things might be in store.
"Wow! This is bound to be fun," said a local termite named Max. "Aw, I've always loved tents. I remeber when the kids here used to build tent forts in the living room. How cool that they colored this one like a big-top, Barnum and Bailey tent. Maybe there will be jugglers! Whatever it is, I'm just going to take a deep breath and enjoy it."
According to sources, not since the house renovation of 2008 has anything this exciting hit the termite community. "I was there in 2008, when the lumber started arriving," said Roger, an elderly termite. "The smell was intoxicating. This is going to be big, I can tell. In fact, I'm already getting a whiff of another intoxicating smell, but this one's different. It's... very... tent..."
At publishing time, the termited across the street had wondered why their neighbors were so lucky as to get a cool bounce house.
