SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Local teen Ethan Gardener expressed confusion this week over how he had managed to learn everything in only 16 years, while his much-older parents still hadn't figured everything out.

"I hope they start to catch on at some point," Gardener said. "My mom asked me the other day if I knew what to do with my towel when I was done using it after a shower, and I was like, ‘Duh.' How do you not know this? She's always reading stuff, asking me things like, ‘Did you know human intestines are 23 feet long?' and I'm like, ‘Ugh, yes, I've known that since I was three, Mom.' It's crazy how I learned so much, and she's 42 and still knows like, nothing."

Gardener expressed dismay after his mother asked him if he'd like her to show him how to iron a shirt.

"I know how to do that already," he said with frustration. "I learned it like, years ago. I hate that she's always trying to teach me stuff when it's clear I know a lot more about pretty much everything than she does. How is it that I figured all this stuff out in only 16 years and my mom and dad still don't know everything?"

Gardener said he was shocked when his dad asked if he'd like to take an automotive repair class with him at the local community center. The teen said he already knew everything about cars after watching a few hours of YouTube videos on the subject and was confused how his dad hadn't figured it all out.

At publishing time, Ethan Gardener's towel was reported to still be on the floor of the bathroom, and he was having trouble figuring out how to get the gas tank cover to open on the family car.
