DAYTON, OH — A giant skeleton Halloween decoration received an updated look this week as its owners climbed a ladder and placed a Santa hat on its head, thus brilliantly transforming it into a Christmas decoration.
"Dangit, we forgot to take down the giant skeleton," skeleton owner Dan Cranston said. "Put a Santa hat on that guy. Boom. Done."
"I'm a genius."
Cranston said he and his wife were considering other variations for additional holidays and wondered how long they could leave ‘Skelly' up in the yard.
"We thought maybe a set of Easter bunny ears might be a festive way to celebrate that one, and we could give him an Uncle Sam beard in July!"
Neighbors were skeptical of the Santa skeleton and asked the Cranstons if they might consider a more appropriate type of holiday decoration.
At publishing time, the Cranstons said, "No."
