KANSAS CITY, MO — Knowing how much his wife liked it when he dressed up to go out, local husband and father Jace Aaron grabbed his good baseball cap for date night.
"This hat shows her exactly how I feel," he said as he donned a hat bearing the logo for the Kansas City Royals. "I might wear other hats when we're doing something more casual, but when she sees this hat, she knows I'm really putting in extra effort to make it a special night."
The happy couple had plans to dine at The Capital Grille, a popular restaurant known for its dry-aged steaks and extensive wine collection. The evening would begin with dinner and end with a romantic walk in the Country Club Plaza. Jace was confident that the hat would perfectly frame his eyes during Kansas City's exotic twilight hours.
Jace was quick to don the cap, knowing that any time he spent on his hair would be time away from his bride. "This looks sufficient," he said, glancing at himself in the mirror. "Now she'll see me not just as a man, but as a championship contender. The marriage championship."
At publishing time, Jace's wife appeared in a full evening gown. Though Jace kindly complimented her, he knew it couldn't compare with his good baseball cap.
