BOISE, ID — The power of love and true kindness was on display this week, as a group of friends graciously blessed a local family with Meal train food that would fill up their fridge before being thrown in the trash next week.

After the birth of a new baby, the Robbins family was notified by their friends at church that they wouldn't need to worry about having food in the refrigerator for the next few weeks, as a group had created a Meal Train where everyone could sign up to bring copious amounts of food that would take up all of the fridge space before having to be thrown out the following week on trash night.

"It's such a touching display of love," said Brianna Robbins. "With me being postpartum and dealing with the baby day and night, it's a relief to know that our friends are stepping up to fill up our refrigerator with meals that we'll eat some of for a day or two before throwing the rest away. Some of these meals are pretty good, but I don't know if we can eat an entire five-gallon bucket of rice. It's a sweet gesture, though, for sure."

The friends of the Robbins family confirmed that they wanted to show their support by making giant heaps of food that no family could possibly eat all of and would therefore end up having to throw most of it away. "It's what friends are for," said Grace Lange, who kindly provided seven grocery bags filled with grapes for the Robbins kids. "We hope they feel loved."

At publishing time, the garbage men who service the Robbins family's neighborhood were looking forward to the trash bin being four times its regular weight.
