BIRMINGHAM, AL - Saul of Tarsus was struck blind on the road to Damascus after hearing the voice of Jesus. Similarly, Billy Wilkerson, age four, was also miraculously struck blind, though the cause was being told exactly where to find his shoes.
"They're right in the middle of your room," Billy's father, Gary, told him. But Billy went to his room and kept saying he could not see them. "They're right there; you can't miss them," Gary said, but Billy still claimed to be unable to see them. The frustrated father then walked to the room himself. And there were the shoes, right in the middle of the floor -- the first thing anyone would see upon entering the room. The only explanation for Billy missing them was that he must have gone completely blind through supernatural means.
"I didn't know what to think," Gary said. "Was this a sign of some sort? Was Billy being called to a greater purpose? And was he going to be late for that greater purpose because he never gets his shoes on?"
When Paul was struck blind, his sight was restored when Ananias laid his hands on him. For Billy, though, the cure was much simpler, the child's sight being restored as soon as Peppa Pig started playing on the TV.
