New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez suffered a public embarrassment Saturday night when she was caught attempting to assemble a bookshelf from IKEA and failing dismally. The 30-minute ordeal only furthered the belief of her detractors that her signature policy proposal of a $15 minimum wage would not actually solve any problems.

While the freshman House rep managed to get most of the pieces out of the box, when it came time to assemble the pieces, it was apparent that she was in way over her head. A spectator reported that several incorrect connections were made, with AOC resorting to lots of duct tape and glue in desperation. Not even the usually-informative instructions contained in the IKEA box could save her. "It looked like a six-year old had done it," said the onlooker, shaking their head.
