AUGUSTA, ME — Things have gone from bad to worse for Democratic Senate hopeful Graham Platner, who was revealed to not only have Nazi tattoo on his chest, but a Nickelback tattoo on his lower back.
While fellow Democrats stood behind Platner after learning about his giant Nazi symbol, several have pulled their endorsements after learning about the Nickelback tattoo.
"We are disgusted and appalled to learn that the Nazi guy has a Nickelback tattoo," said Senator Bernie Sanders, who had reiterated his support for Platner after the Nazi revelations. "I can no longer in good conscience back Platner's candidacy for the United States Senate. A Nazi who shows such poor judgment as to get a Nickelback tattoo simply does not belong in a position of power."
Platner has issued an apology, stating that he got the Nickelback tattoo when he was really wasted with some other Nazis. "I was completely hammered with a bunch of my Nazi friends, and then I made a poor decision that I deeply regret," said Platner. "I am deeply sorry to all of the people who saw the Nickelback tattoo and were hurt by that image. This is not representative of who I am. That would be the Nazi thing on my chest."
At publishing time, Platner had announced that he had made amends by having a tattoo artist turn the Nickelback tattoo into a huge swastika.
