DOHA — The United States and Iran convened an emergency summit in Qatar to see if anyone remembers why the two countries are at war.
As the two nations traded missile strikes yesterday, representatives of each country reportedly phoned the other to ask if they knew why they were lobbing bombs at one another. With no one able to give a clear answer, diplomats were quickly dispatched to Doha to see if anyone could remember.
"Anyone? Anyone at all?" said Steve Witkoff, negotiator for the United States. "I know there was a reason we started blowing each other up. It was a pretty good reason, too. I just can't remember at this point. Mohammed? Any thoughts over there?"
According to witnesses present at the summit, Vice President JD Vance obtained a marker and began brainstorming possible reasons on a whiteboard. "Okay, so you guys tried to assassinate our president. Definitely a possible reason, let's write that down," said Vance. "Enriched uranium? Maybe, but we buried that under a mountain when we bombed you guys last year. I mean, you guys are always giving money to terrorists, that's kind of a decent standing reason to blow you up. I just don't feel like that was it, though. Think, JD, think!"
At publishing time, the summit had ended with both sides agreeing that "just because" was a good enough reason.
Rumors swirl about the current condition of Senator Mitch McConnell, but his staff have come out to say that even if he were dead he will still be able to finish his term.
